The Super 8 by Wyndham Redding generally receives positive reviews, particularly highlighting its cleanliness, convenient location near amenities, and friendly staff. However, some guests have reported issues with dated rooms, limited breakfast offerings, and unreliable Wi-Fi.
As a solo woman traveler, my first priority when selecting a hotel is safety, second is value, and Super 8 by Wyndham Redding CA provided both! I arrived late, and was greeted by a lovely lady! My room was as listed, I’m not a hotel snob, in most cases you get what you pay for, but everything was clean and functioned properly! It was also very calm and quiet, despite being a Friday night in a Holiday weekend. The surrounding area of the hotel was also seemingly safe, and close to gas & food. Overall good experience! Would stay again!
Highly recommend! The rooms smell a little musty, but everything was clean and the staff were amazing. In particular Thomas at the front desk was an absolute gem. He carried my dog's kennel to my room after it wouldn't fit through the door with the rest of my luggage on the cart. The complimentary breakfast has granola bars, fruit, yogurt, instant oatmeal packets, and coffee and hot water for tea. There's a small area for pets out back and a beautiful tree in the parking lot home to many hummingbirds. The location is right off the highway, and the parking lot felt very safe and secure.
nice clean neighborhood. food options in walking distance are everywhere. coffee. everything. i had a good nights rest. the casino thats 4 mins away is bad. i didnt bet 1 single dollar. if u know, u know =)
I stay in 3 to 4 hotels a week due to my job and all I gotta say is don’t listen to the negative reviews. This place is actually really good. Continental breakfast is pretty light but other than that I have no complaints.
Ok, so the rooms, the staff service, and the quality of beds, showers, etc are quite good, but here is why im giving this a 1 star and not a 5: the wifi is so bad you cant even watch a YouTube video, im literally better off using my cell service, which defeats the entire point of having wifi, the pool was closed the entire time I was there, and the breakfast would not legally qualify for a breakfast to a child in kindergarten. The breakfast is yogurt, random assortment of fruit, and a packet of oatmeal. I've had better breakfast in jail. The only redeeming factor to this is that coffee is free and available 24/7. Something as simple as offering a waffle like most hotels do would've made me happy, but to say you offer breakfast and hand me a packet of oatmeal was a huge let down, then advertising a pool yet having it closed was also a huge disappointment. And the wifi is soooooo slow that it literally prompted me to write this review. Fix these and this is easily changed from 1 star to 5.
I solit a 17 1/2 drive and stayed one night at this location in Redding, CA. This place was exceptionally well maintained and modern. Hard to find a room that is sanitary and fresh. Didn't receive much customer service other than checking in, but the receptionist was kind. Highly recommend this spot if you need a room in Redding.
We booked this place last minute after we found the motel we had originally booked had mysteriously shut down. Thomas at the check in desk was super friendly and helpful. Our room was really clean, spacious and the beds were comfy. It also had all the amenities with a desk, refrigerator and microwave. The free breakfast and coffee in the morning was a bonus too. The breakfast choice included porridge, fruit, a range of cereal bars, pastries and some high protein yogurts. Overall a great choice on a budget.
Basically a good hotel in a great location. The breakfast needs improvement by offering things like muffins and cereal. Rooms need some attention with maintenance, although this is a minor point. The hotel was quiet and comfortable for my stay.
Honestly, the rooms where gross. Our first room smelled like cigarettes, and the second smelt like wet dog - it was almost unbearable to stay. We had no other option by the time we got there. All the surfaces in the room were sticky. No plug for the bathtub, and the hot water ran out in 10 min. They had the saddest breakfast I’ve ever seen, not even the kids wanted anything. The pool had a bunch of junk in it, including lots of hair. The service people were nice and the beds were comfy, but the place is so run down and gross, it really isn’t worth it to stay. The kids and I couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. Also worth noting there is not hot tub, or at least not anymore. We booked last minute and paid $150. I feel sick thinking we paid that much for such a gross experience.
We just stayed here this past weekend for a local event as the hotel where the event was had no rooms available. We were pleasantly surprised. The furnishings in the room are a bit old and outdated, but everything was super clean, and the beds were probably the most comfortable beds that I’ve ever slept on in a motel. The staff was also super friendly and helpful, and the location was great. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we are in the area.
