The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Redding offers a convenient location near I-5 and generally positive guest experiences, particularly highlighting friendly staff and a decent breakfast. However, some guests have reported issues with outdated room conditions and potential allergens.
I’d recommend this place! It’s super close to I-5, which makes it a breeze to hop on and off the freeway when you’re on a road trip. We had a 2 queen bed suite with a sofa and two TVs. The room was clean, and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was good—a quick buffet style, and the service was even better. Robin was the sweetest and most accommodating breakfast person ever! Thanks Robin!
The nice lady that wears the Chicago Bears apron and serves breakfast is the best! She is so pleasant and welcoming. The rest of the staff is also great and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Came in and the process went by real smooth. The whole hotel looked cute specially the little lobby area. Nora in the front desk was very nice and super helpful. We asked for a good place nearby for lunch and she recommended us a nice little deli. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I’ll definitely come back if I’m ever back in town.
Great value. I loved their breakfast and the charming lady who attends the Bouffe. Location is perfect if you’re traveling on I-5.
The parking lot was well-lit and shared with the neighboring Home2 Suites, located in an industrial area. I checked in late, and the staff member on duty was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is quite old, with noticeable odors suggesting underlying maintenance issues, despite the property appearing recently updated. The first room I was assigned on the third floor had a strong smell of water damage. When I went to request a different room, the front desk agent—who seemed to be in a heated conversation in the back—quickly switched me to another room on the same floor. The second room had a lingering odor, similar to stale sweat, but I decided to stay and tried to air it out by opening the window. After about an hour, I began to feel skin irritation, and later that night I woke up with a severe sinus headache, wheezing, and facial swelling—symptoms I typically experience from mold or mildew exposure. I checked out several hours later and relocated to another (more expensive) hotel to avoid worsening symptoms. While the staff was courteous and tried to help, the air quality and room conditions were unacceptable for me. I would not recommend this property for anyone sensitive to allergens or odors.
Ultimately, Megan is exceptionally amazing and we need more in this world like her! My stay was excellent and because of Megan , I was able to extend my stay! Fairfield Inn and Suites deserves 5 stars because overall the rooms are clean and I was very impressed with there Breakfast they serve with so many options! Other staff like Valley, are very welcoming and I will for sure stay there anytime I'm back in Redding!!!
The tall, skinny blonde desk clerk gave us unnecessary grief about their late checkout policy even after their staff approved it during check-in. She just wanted to bother her guests, rambling about housekeeping schedules and other nonsense despite our late checkout being just fine. Obviously this place needs to better train their staff about guest communications. Otherwise, the hotel, pool, and breakfast were decent.
Quiet and clean spacious room. Microwave and small fridge are quite nice. The tub is lovely. Looks like the room has been newly renovated. Friendly staff at breakfast. Convenient to freeway.
The customer service at this Marriot was exceptional. Whenever I travel, I have to stay in places without scents - whether they are cleaning agents or piped in fragrances. Before I check in, I ask to see the room first, to assess whether the room is scented or not with cleaning agents or fragrances. When I asked Nora, who was the person at the front counter, if I could check out the room before i checked in, she said, "Sure, let's go together and check out a few." What a nice surprise! So, off Nora and I went to check out some rooms. The first room we went into had no scent. The air was clean. Perfect. I was so touched by Nora's compassion and understanding. What a kind gesture to accommodate my request and not have me feel weird for asking. The hotel is quiet, clean and friendly. They do have a fragrance piped in when you enter, but the rooms do not, at least the few times i have stayed here. And the breakfast buffet is a nice addition. Fresh fruit, yogurt, gluten free items and more. The Fairfield in Redding will be my regular stop on my trips to california. Thank you Nora.
An overall solid stay. Nothing insane, just a good hotel for visiting Redding and the surrounding areas. Only real drawback is location, which is in a more industrial area on the outskirts, but it was not an issue for me. Nearby ice cream place (32 Below, its within walking distance) was an added bonus.
