La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Redding receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff and complimentary breakfast, while others report significant cleanliness issues, malfunctioning amenities, and safety concerns ranging from broken locks to the presence of pests. The hotel appears to be struggling with maintenance and upkeep, resulting in a dated and occasionally uncomfortable experience.
Had to change rooms because the carpet was dirty with some unknown substance, there was an electrical socket with no cover plate, and there was a Roach on the wall. The deal clerk was excellent and moved us quickly. The laundry facilities were not working so we were told to go over to the holiday inn express because they have the same owners. The shower handle was broken and everything seemed like it was fine with the latest amount of effort available. Staff however, b was excellent.
I will not be staying at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndam in Redding ever again. I requested a room on the 1st floor due to my Handicap. with the gentleman at the front desk. When I arrived, I made the comment about my request and the lady said they did not have one. She tells me to wait a moment and then goes off to check. When she comes back she said she has a room. The room was a disaster! My room had been given away to another guest because they complained about that room. I went to the front desk the next morning and the person I had talked to for the reservation moved me immediately to another room. Still not the greatest but it was much better! As for the other morning employees, the have zero professionalism for the job. They just walk right in front of you and cut you off (cane or no cane). They do not have any curtesy to say excuse me and they look at you with a blank stare and have no apology when confronted. I absolutely recommend finding a different place to stay unless you don't care about quality and professionalism.
Absolutely Unsatisfied with this hotel. Broken door locks, holes and mold on the walls. Holes/missing carpet. Unusable coffee pots and broken blow dryers. Taking a shower turned into a bath…. That heated up and cooled down by itself. Dirty trash cans and no way to wash yourself. Woke up and looked outside.. and a homeless man was taking his morning poop. I even had to leave the property to get coffee in the morning. Don’t stay here. Go to motel 6… they leave the light on for you.
There were no washcloths or tissue in the room. When I asked housekeeping there was a language barrier. The free breakfast was. Let's just say at least it was free The desk clerk was amazing. The TV was really hard to operate. Finding the right channel compared to what was actually showing was a challenge. No charging stations . Bring a charging plug.
La Quinta Inn, for better or worse, has old school vibes. It's classic, welcoming and pretty well maintained for the price. The rooms are well kept, if a little run down in subtle ways. It's nothing that affects the experience of course, but old buildings have old problems. Missing room numbers, odd lamp wiring and a door latch that wasnt bolted on fully all made an appearance. In the end though, everything in the room worked, the television had ample options, the wifi was pretty good and the bed was comfortable by hotel standards. The service is wonderful and always present at the front desk. They have a great attitude and take care of any needs quickly. The check in/out process is likewise fast. They also offer a complimentary breakfast which, while not top tier, consists of hot food and juice - a step above the fruit and cereal I had expected - which was more than welcome for me so far from home. If you're looking for a comfortable and safe hotel in Redding you could do alot worse than this one. It may not be a world class experience but it's punching well above it's price point and I, for one, intend to stay there again. Wholeheartedly recommend.
I’ll cut to the chase: I’ve never stayed in a more filthy and smelly hotel in the United States. The only redeeming fact about La Quinta Inn in Redding is its location which makes for a convenient stop on a journey from Seattle to LA. These are the things I noticed: 1. Used condoms in the parking lot; 2. Security doors into hotel could not be locked (allowing anyone to enter); 3. Despite being 100% non-smoking, the hallways stunk of smoke; 4. Holes and dents in the hallway walls; 5. Numerous rather dubious-looking people in the hallway. I didn’t feel threatened but research indicated that the hotel may be occupied by folks “in transition” I.e., a halfway house.
Rooms need more work, booking site is awful, didn't eat the food and smoke alarm went haywire after they prepared breakfast. In all fairness, we reserved the room by Booking.com which never answered their 24/7 phone. I booked regarless and crossed my fingers I'd be able to straighten it out later since we asked for a 1:00 am check in as we had family at Mercy Hospital. The Booking.com site booked us for 3:00 PM as there really isn't a way to see if a room is available at 12:30 AM. Got to the hotel, got checked in, paid for the room a second time, clerk couldn't help with Booking.com snafu. Came back from the Hospital hoping to sleep from 3:00AM-12:00 (they gave us an extra hour for check out). Heater was put on from 1:00 - 3:00 but room wasn't warm. Reset heater and went to sleep. About 9:00AM our smoke alarm starts wailing, it doesn't like something - smoke? nope, fire? nope. heater finially working? maybe, smell of bacon and breakfast odors from down the hall? maybe. Called desk, no maintenance available, maid working across from our room no help whatsoever. I'm holding the smoke alarm in my hand as it is hard wired and going off every 10 minutes or so after reset button is pushed while standing on a flimsy chair. Inbetween smoke alarm issue I call back the front desk to see if I can get corporate to do something and get the wi fi password. Family of 4 vacated immediately.
Room 126 was missing the coffee maker tray for the filter, the shower ran hot and then cold, the electric plug for the heater was missing a wall cover, wires laying on the floor, the hair dryer was sparking when turned not safe to use. The hallway paint was chipped and unsightly. Upon checking in the staff was pleasant and helpful. Definitely disappointed for LaQuinta.
Wow, we never stayed in an inn that was so old and dirty. Bathroom had dark mold all around, in and above the tub. Place had an old musky odor. Breakfast looked sketchy. I must say, we stayed in the La Quinta Inn in Ripon, CA and it was so much cleaner and a nice stay. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone unless they do a Major overhaul.
Do not book here. It stinks like an old hall and mice. Breakfast is terrible, unless you like burnt coffee and terrible service. Beds were supposed to be queen but we're double. Big mistake by booking our honeymoon here. Constant noise until after midnight of vacuums running and banging all through the hotel. People yapping. Just please don't book here. It absolutely sucks!!!! Biggest waste of money.
